Veldhuizerschool Ede

The existing primary school turned out to be too small and too old for six groups. That is why a new building has been chosen that offers space for eleven groups with a playroom. As a result of integral teamwork within various disciplines, Techcomlight was involved in the construction plans at an early stage. Techcomlight was responsible for daylighting in this project.

Issue

The new Veldhuizerschool in Ede had to use up to 80% less energy by using passive resources. The fully energy-efficient school is built according to the standards of passive construction.

Solution

The Solatube Ø 35 cm ECO is equipped with an additional dome, insulation lens and insulated roof flashing. As a result, insulation values of up to 0.7 W / m²K are achieved, making it suitable for passive construction. This contributes to a significant reduction in energy consumption. Moreover, it has been scientifically proven that daylight entry contributes to improved school performance of the children. Daylight provides more ability to concentrate, a better mood, more productivity, less disease and it reduces errors.
