The Powerdaylight Ø 53 cm is the most commonly used daylight tube in commercial buildings. The Solatube Ø 53 cm has a large daylight output and therefore transports daylight to every room or area in a commercial building, such as meeting rooms, offices, but also workshops and warehouses. This Solatube can be used on all types of roofs. We would suggest a maximum ceiling height of up to 14 metres for the Solatube Ø 53 cm system.
Round and square
The Solatube Ø 53 cm is available with various ceiling diffuser style options in both a round or square finish. The round variant can be used in open areas without a ceiling such as warehouses and distribution centres. The square ceiling option is designed to fit into a standard 60 cm square suspended grid ceiling system and is also available with a recessed ceiling finish suitable for concrete or plasterboard ceilings.
ECO
The ECO version is available for the Powerdaylight Ø 53 cm square to improve the thermal and acoustic properties of the Powerdaylight daylight system. This makes this version also suitable for passive construction.
Cradle
The Cradle version is available for the Powerdaylight Ø 53 cm square and has the Cradle to Cradle (C2C) certificate. This certificate guarantees that the production process has no impact on the environment.
At Techcomlight we are aware of the potential of reusing materials. It is therefore a conscious choice not to use plastic in the Cradle version.
The materials used, such as glass, are 100% recyclable and sustainable.
Walkable and driveable
The unique feature of the Powerdaylight daylight system is that the system is optionally available in both walk-over and drive-over versions. Ideal for illuminating areas under (roof) terraces, gardens and sidewalks.
The drive-over dome has even more load capacity than the walk-over variant (400 kg), namely 1000 kg. This makes it possible for vehicles such as motorcycles and cars to drive over this flat dome.
Installation
The Solatube Ø 53 cm can be used on all types of roofs and facades. The flat roof flashing is suitable for all types of roof coverings such as EPDM, PVC, TPO, Bitumen, CPE. There is also a fully insulated prefabricated flat roof flashing available for optimal thermal insulation, if required.
The Solatube Ø 53 cm pitched roof flashing comprises of Ubiflex, a non-lead waterproof flashing material manufactured from reinforced aluminium mesh with a mixture of modified bitumen, which makes installation quick and easy.
In addition to flashings for corrugated iron, profiled steel or thatched roofs there is also an option available to install a Solatube Ø 53 cm through a vertical wall or the façade of a building.
Unusual applications
In addition to the standard applications, the Solatube Ø 53 cm can also be used in a number of unusual applications, such as lighting fauna and bicycle tunnels. A special variant of the Solatube Ø 53 cm system – the ‘IceTube’ has also been developed for use in cooling and freezing environments. If your potential application is not listed, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Accessories
As the sun does not always shine (or, on the contrary, if there is a need for less daylight), it is possible to integrate various optional accessories into this Solatube system, such as an artificial (electrical) light fitting, a daylight dimmer and even a bathroom ventilation system. If required, security and fire protection options are also available.
